What was that Pocahontas song? It isn't coming to me right now. Anyways, the winds of change have begun at my school. A week ago my director announced that she would be leaving. Sorry NC but she is headed down your way to Raleigh. She is the same person that has caused tremendous stress in my work environment. It was quite interesting to see the faculty's reaction. They were SO happy. Funny, everyone started asking me if I was going to stay now. I strongly feel that everything happens for a reason. I am happy with my decision to leave and am looking forward to having the opportunity to spend more time with my kids. But now with all of these issues with Marisol, even more reason not to stay.
We are now counting down the days until Marisol's first communion. I am nearly done with her dress. We pretty much have all of the party preparations together and the RSVPs are making their way in. Not sure if any of you have heard about the whole SkyBus airlines incident but that was how Ellen had planned to get here. Now she has no ticket. Even though I was really looking forward to seeing her and having her for a visit I can understand that at this short notice a ticket would be super expensive.
Last week we got one more piece of bad news. My mom's health still continues to be up and down. Unfortunately right now it is not so good and her doctor has told her that she would not be well enough to make the trip to Ohio. Marisol doesn't know yet but I know she will be heart broken not to have her abuelita here with her. I know that it is killing my mom too to miss such a big event in our family.
Well, even with all of that I suspect it will be a day that Marisol will never forget. I remember my first communion like it was yesterday. It is one of my best memories as a little girl. I hope to do the same for Marisol.
I hope that all of you are doing well and keeping warm. It still is chilly here but we are hoping for a warm up in the next week or so. I told Tom the other day that I have completely given up on it ever getting warm again, that way if it does get warm I will be pleasantly surprised.
